A School Travel Plan is a written commitment from the whole
school community to carry out actions which will be of great
benefit to your children. These include reducing congestion,
improving road safety, increasing exercise levels, helping the
environment, and giving you and your children an active role in
school decision making.
Does my school have a School Travel Plan?
Hopefully you should know whether your school has a
plan because you will have been asked to give your thoughts on the
school travel situation (through a questionnaire); and your child
will have been involved in activities relating to the plan; such as
poster competitions, cycle training or through the School Council.
If you are unsure please ask the Head Teacher. Click here to access a
list of schools with an adopted plan, if your school doesn't
appear on this list they may be developing a travel plan.
