Taking your Bike on the Rail Network

Bikes at railway stations

Go Go Go Merseyrail has seen hundreds of new secure cycle storage spaces at railway stations across Merseyside. Secure means it's under cover, locked and covered by CCTV. It's completely free to get your own secure pass allowing you to park your bike as often as you like, giving you peace of mind that your bike is looked after while you're at work.

Cycle spaces are available at the following stations;

Wirral Line
Bebington, Birkenhead Central, Bromborough, Bromborough Rake, Eastham Rake, Green Lane, Hoylake, Liverpool James Street, Manor Road, Meols, Moreton, New Brighton, Port Sunlight, Rock Ferry, Spital, Wallasey Grove Road and West Kirby.

Aigburth, Ainsdale, Aintree, Birkdale, Blundellsands & Crosby, Bootle New Strand, Bootle Oriel Road, Brunswick, Cressington, Fazakerley, Formby, Freshfield, Hall Road, Hightown, Hillside, Hunts Cross, Kirkby, Kirkdale, Liverpool South Parkway, Maghull, Old Roan, Orrell Park, Sandhills, Southport, St Michaels and Waterloo

Please be aware that sometimes, engineering works are planned in to make improvements to the rail network check the Merseytravel website alerts for any for any planned engineering works or disruptions in your area.

Bikes on trains

You can take your bike for free on trains in Merseyside, though it's sensible to keep in mind that trains can be busy in peak hours. LightNight Cycling Trails & Dr Bike

Free bus for LightNight Liverpool
