The Merseyside Transport Partnership and TruckWatch Northwest have been working together to improve the safety of vehicles and drivers across the Northwest of England and north Wales. TruckWatch Northwest is co-ordinated by the University of Central Lancashire's Crime Reduction Unit and includes the police, Chambers of Commerce and a range of freight and logistics companies.
Crime reduction is vitally important in the sector as vehicles are targeted for their goods causing distress not only to the company but to many drivers who are put in unfortunate situations. The TruckWatch Northwest group meets regularly to discuss current topics and ways in which crime can be reduced for all freight related traffic, warehouses, distribution centres and parking facilities.
