Southport and Ainsdale

As a Cycle Demonstration Town, Southport and Ainsdale received extra funding to encourage more visitors and residents to enjoy cycling round the town. Merseyside Cycling Campaign

A voluntary organisation that campaigns for safe roads for cyclists, better cycling facilities and for the promotion of cycling as a natural part of city life on Merseyside. Membership is free and MCC exists on voluntary donations of both time and money. Why not find out more about the Merseyside Cycling Campaign by visiting their website.

Each Council has local information on planned new routes, cycle forums, events, initiatives and lots more so click news in Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral. 

Cyclist's Touring Club (CTC)

The CTC is a national not-for-profit organisation that is funded through its 60,000 members and donations, which campaigns nationally for better rights and conditions for cyclists.  It also provides a wide range of activities and services designed to enhance the riding opportunities for all cyclists, and to make it easier for newcomers to begin cycling.

There is a Merseyside branch of the CTC which organises a variety of regular events for all tastes and abilities - more details are available on the Merseyside District Association website.

Cycling Beyond Merseyside

The CTC Two Mills Group Sunday rides programme includes routes beyond Chester into the lanes of Cheshire, Wrexham and occasionally the hillier parts of North Wales as well as gentler stretches on the Wirral. Sustrans

The UK charity that works to enable people to travel by bike for more of the journeys we make every day. TravelWise Merseyside works closely with Sustrans on various initiatives like Bike It, improving links to schools and promoting the Loop Line in our region. LightNight Cycling Trails & Dr Bike

Join Transition Liverpool & Merseytravel's cycling trails, which depart from the Bluecoat Courtyard at 6pm, 7pm & 9pm. Transition Liverpool will be sharing the values of sustainable Liverpool from the saddle for all abilities.
