Park & Ride

Park and ride gives you the opportunity to enjoy a hassle free journey at a fraction of the price. Driving into the city centre can mean traffic queues and expensive parking so by taking advantage of free parking at many stations on the Merseyrail network, you can enjoy a fast and frequent train into town. Full details of station parking facilities are on the Merseyrail website.

Southport has two bus based park and ride sites on the outskirts of town, the Esplanade Park and Ride and Fairways Park and Ride. They provide visitors with easy access to local attractions. There is also a new park and ride site currently being constructed to the east of Southport near to the Kew Roundabout. Eastern Park and Ride is expected to open in 2007.

We are planning further improvements and expansion of Park and Ride services across Merseysidew as part of our Local Transport Plan.
