Neil Scales, Chair of the Merseyside Transport Partnership and Director General/Chief Executive of Merseytravel chaired and started the briefing by giving an introduction to how the Partnership plans to develop the third Local Transport Plan

Joan Brookman, Head of Sustainability at Liverpool Primary Care Trust spoke about the importance of health and how it links with transport, in particular 2010 Year of Health & Wellbeing.

Richard Brown, Mott MacDonald gave a presentation highlighting the evidence that has been gathered in preparation of the development of LTP3. In particular he highlighted the evidence base review which is available from the LTP3 consultation page and the Liverpool City Region Transport Model.
