Merseyside Transport Conference
The Merseyside Transport Partnership held its third annual Transport Conference on the 13th October at FACT. Jan Rowley, Assistant Executive for Regeneration - Environment chaired the conference, which examined how the Liverpool City Region needs to adapt in response to major issues such as climate change and diminishing oil resources, and how doing so can boost the economy and health of the area.
Key note speakers at the conference were;
- Neil Scales, Chair of the Merseyside Transport Partnership and Chief Executive/Director General of Merseytravel who reported back on the Partnership's Local Transport Plan progress and planning for the new LTP.

- Fiona Wilford, Lead for Regional & Local Carbon Strategy at the Department for Transport reported how nationally we are planning for a low carbon future

After the main conference, there was a consultation session in which;
- Murray Grant, Head of the LTP Support Unit spoke on how we look to plan for the next Local Transport Plan.
