The Employers Network offers Merseyside businesses and organisations a range of exciting new tools and initiatives for FREE to support organisation's travel needs.
The Network is being funded through the Department of Transport's Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF). The Merseyside Transport Partnership has been successful in winning £4.8m, with the prospect of an additional £21.7m being awarded in summer 2012. LSTF will fund several schemes, including supporting employers to offer sustainable transport options for current and prospective staff until March 2015. A number of infrastructure improvements such as cycle lanes and improving pedestrian access in Merseyside will complement the work of the Employers Network & overcome some current barriers to employment.

What does the Employers Network offer?
On signing up, the following initiatives and tools will be available to your organisation for FREE -

• Travel toolkit - information to help your organisation to plan and promote a choice of travel to their site
• Tailored online travel survey tool to assess current travel patterns and needs, and monitor the impact of sustainable travel measures
• A postcode mapping service to help assess where your staff travel from
• Tools to help you market particular sustainable travel modes to your site e.g. carshare, eco-driving, cycling, walking, train and bus marketing plans
• Forums and networking events to gain ideas from other businesses
• Staff discount at selected cycle shops
• Free resources including bus and train timetables and cycling incentives
• Face to face assistance and additional benefits for businesses in the LSTF Merseyside key component areas - North Liverpool, South Sefton, East Wirral, Haydock, Lea Green and Kirkby Industrial parks.
